SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said a missing elderly woman who wandered off from the Westgate Mall in Spartanburg was found safe Sunday morning.

Velma West, 81, went missing around 5:30 p.m. Saturday while shopping with her daughter

Police said they found West at 7:40 a.m. Sunday, in the Saxon community of Spartanburg County.

Police said West was able to get a ride to a friend's house. She spent the night there, and officers said that's where they found her Sunday morning.

This is the same location she was found this morning.

West, who police said suffers from bipolar disorder, dementia and schizophrenia, was not hurt.

Police said they returned West to her sister's home in Woodruff.
