JACKSON, MS (Mississippi News Now) -

Do you remember the adventurous Englishman who set out to paddle the entire length of the Mississippi River and raise money for a children's hospital?

Well, Kevin Brady, 30, of Gloucester England reached the Gulf of Mexico around 2 p.m. Saturday.

I caught up with Brady via phone on Sunday and this is what he had to say.

"It feels quite strange because I don't have to canoe in the morning," Brady said.

"Every morning for the last five months, at 5 a.m. I've canoed," Brady added.

Brady said so far he's raised 3,000 pounds or $5,000 in American currency for the The Pied Piper Appeal, the children's ward of the Gloucester Hospital.

When asked what he will do in the morning with so much free time, he replied, "I'm catching a bus to Memphis to meet up with some other paddlers, who've paddled through other rivers and we're gonna party!"

Brady started his journey on Lake Itasca in Northern Minnesota and has canoed 2,350 miles to reach the Gulf of Mexico.

The entire trip took Brady 146 days to complete.

Brady said at times, like Saturday, the water was freezing.

There has been a network of people cheering him on along the way.

The "River Angels" have helped him a lot he said.

"I was prepared to do it all on my own, from start to finish," Brady said.

"It's been really heart-warming to be taken into people's homes and it has given me great faith in humanity. The people of America are awesome!," Brady added.

Brady said it will probably be sometime next week before he heads back to England.

"I'm just going to enjoy the city of Memphis!," Brady added.

If you'd like to wish Brady a congratulations or keep up with his next adventure, you can follow him on Twitter
