GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said a crash involving a semi truck has closed a Greenville road, which will affect nearby traffic for two local schools.

Police said the wreck happened at Kendal Green Drive and Perrin Street before 9 a.m.

Because of the accident, Perrin Street will remain closed for a couple hours between Keith Drive and West Circle Avenue.

Police said drivers headed to East North Street Academy and Greenville Middle Academy may want to find alternate routes as the road is not expected to reopen until 11 a.m.

FOX Carolina crews at the scene said the truck appeared to have hit a low-lying tree and was hauling beer.

No other details about the wreck were released.
