Police: Woman with slain Spartanburg man before his death sought

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police are hoping to identify a woman who was with a man the night before he was killed as they continue to investigate his death.

Police said they want to interview the unknown woman as part of their investigation in to Stanley Jones' death, but she is not a suspect.

Capt. Regina Nowak with Spartanburg Public Safety said the woman was with Jones the night before he was shot to death in the front yard of his Baltimore Street home Nov. 12, 2013.

Since then, police have yet to make an arrest in the case or identify a suspect.

According to police, witnesses reported seeing the shooter fire shots from the backseat of a passing car.

Anyone who can identify the woman or has information in Stanley's death is asked to call Jim Gardiner at 864-590-9082 or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
