U.S. Postal Service restores mail delivery to Upstate

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The U.S. Postal Service announced on Thursday they are working to open post offices and extend mail delivery to as many customers as they can in South Carolina's 290-296/299 zip code area.

Since the storm first hit on Tuesday, the postal operations were mostly hampered across the Upstate and the Midlands. A spokesperson with USPS said many of their workers were unable to get to work and those who could were stalled by hazardous road conditions. USPS expects to have more employees available at the end of the week and plan to open more post offices and extend mail delivery to customers. USPS is asking customers to be patient as they try to restore normal operations and are urging customers to clear the areas surrounding their mailboxes to help with delivering mail.
