GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

According to the Highway Patrol, the crash happened about 10:30 a.m.
FOX Carolina crews at the scene said somehow a tractor trailer crashed into a tree off the side of the road, splitting open part of the truck. The truck appeared to be hauling some type of cable, which spilled out onto the snowy ground alongside the interstate.
There appeared to be another car involved in the crash, but so far officials have not released any details about what happened or the extent of any injuries.
FOX Carolina's Pit Crew Traffic maps showed a backup and slowdown at least to mile marker 56 as of 11:15 a.m.
Drivers headed south should expect delays or find an alternate route.
