Valentine's Day traffic clogs Upstate roads

Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

After several days of residents being stuck at home in extreme winter weather, they returned to the roads in full force on Valentine's Day night, prompting police to send out words of caution.

The influx in traffic prompted Johnathan Bragg of the Greenville Police Department to urge driver's to drive carefully and warned them to not block intersections, which are compounding the traffic problems in the city.

Bragg compared the amount of cars on the road to Christmas holiday traffic.

Despite the backups, the South Carolina Highway Patrol's website only listed three incidents in Greenville County at 8 p.m. Friday.
