The search is on for four robbery suspects, who opened fire at a bank in Sandston. These are the scary surveillance photos police are releasing in hopes you may recognize one of these men.
This happened at the C&F Bank on East Williamsburg Road.
It happened in the middle of the afternoon, the building was full of customers and tellers.
"It's a community bank definitely," says Shannon Roland, a bank customer. "You know you're concerned with the people who are in there."
Police say at least one shot was fired, but luckily nobody was injured. The men take off with the cash in a stolen green SUV.
At the Lucky Mart next door, store owner Lakmir Bagga says robbers on the run doesn't necessarily scare him. "If anybody come through here, if they come to me, I go face to face," he said. "I'm not a scared guy."
But it makes him nervous if his wife is working.
Bagga banks at C&F and remembers another violent robbery a few years ago.
"The guy you know he tried to protect the banker but he got shot," he said.
It's a reputation several customers we ran into know about, Donna Fibbiani saw the police cars this afternoon.
"I just figured it was probably a robbery because it's happened before," she said.
Some customers say other safety measures need to be taken.
"I think the one in New Kent has a guard there," says Roland.
Other customers suggested doors the manager can lock and bullet proof guess.
In the meantime officers are looking for these suspects right now. If you know anything that could help police, they want to hear from you. The best way to do it anonymously is through Crime Stoppers at 780-1000.
