GREER, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Mike Bullock says the sign over his barber shop by the same name may have been missing for weeks. Bullock says he uses the backdoor of the business to come in and other business owners tell Fox Carolina they thought the sign was taken down for repairs.

The sign measures around 13 ft by 4 ft and was made of metal according to Bullock.

"It took some work," Bullock said. "You couldn't just throw a rope around it and pull it down, it was heavy."

Bullock says the sign has been on the building for at least 34 years and had become a familiar sight in downtown Greer.

"I like old things," Bullock said. "So you know I hate that its gone for that reason."

Bullock said he noticed the sign went missing Wednesday and called Greer police. The longtime barber says he thinks the sign was either stolen for scrap metal or for resale as an antique and is asking for its return.

"Bring it back and we'll just call it a day," Bullock said.

Anyone with information about the sign is asked to call Greer Police or Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
