GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Engineer teams with the SC DOT began inspecting bridges across the state Saturday, following a magnitude 4.1 earthquake that shook three states just before 10:30 p.m. Friday.

The quake was centered 7 miles from Edgefield, SC and was felt as far west as Atlanta and as far north as Hickory, NC, each about 150 miles away.

According to the SC DOT, engineers are looking at bridges along Hwy 123 at Lake Hartwell and Hwy 76 at the Chatooga River, as well as the area around the Nuclear/Keowee hydroelectric area. They'll also inspect below Lake Hartwell Dam and Hwy 34 at Saluda River below Lake Greenwood, but say they're main focus is around Edgefield.
