SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spartanburg police said one woman was charged and warrants were signed for two others after the suspects beat another women as she tried to enter her apartment.

Officers said they were called to the Freemont School Apartments on Magnolia Street just before 10 a.m. Saturday, where they met with the victim, who said three women jumped her outside the apartment building as she was returning from breakfast.

The victim told police the women took her cell phone and stomped on it. She told police she was able to run off and was attempting to enter her apartment when the women caught up with her and knocked the 46-year-old victim to the ground.

Police said the victim had several cuts and scratches on her face and complained of back pain.

Police said one suspect, Jammicka Dawkins, 22, was still on scene during the investigation. Officers said they gathered enough evidence to take Dawkins into custody.

Dawkins was charged with assault and battery by mob second degree, and is being held in the Spartanburg County Detention Center on a $5,000 bond.

Officers said they had also signed arrest warrants against La'Dovia Dawkins, 25, and Wendy Rice, 46. Officers said Rice and Dawkins were identified as the other two suspects.
