Powerball jackpot skyrockets to $400 million

COLUMBIA, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Powerball jackpot is creeping up on half a billion dollars.

The Wednesday night drawing will be the fourth largest Powerball jackpot of all time at $400 million.

The $400 million jackpot has a cash payout of $227 million. The $2 tickets for the drawing must be purchased by 9:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 19.

If no one wins the jackpot on Wednesday the pot will grow even larger for the Saturday drawing.

The odds of winning the jackpot are long, about one in 176 million.

Tune into FOX Carolina for the live drawing at 10:59 p.m. on Wednesday.
