SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -
Deputies said they are looking for two men after a woman was choked and a man was beaten with a putter and stabbed at a Spartanburg motel Tuesday night.
First responders were called to the Carolina Inn and Suites at 810 Hospitality Dr. just before 9 p.m. Spartanburg County deputies said a woman was physically assaulted by the father of her child, 26-year-old Jason Bishop.
According to a sheriff's office report, Bishop stopped by the woman's room to "start something" and began choking her. She was able to get away and went to a room next door, deputies said.
Deputies said Bishop and his friend, 22-year-old Michael Ham, were told not to come in, but the men came running into the room, swinging a golf club at everyone and stabbed the other victim in the stomach.
The victim told deputies he did not know which man stabbed him and he was taken to Spartanburg Regional Medical Center for treatment. Deputies said his injuries were believed to be non-life threatening. The female victim was treated on the scene by EMS.
Bishop and Ham fled the scene before deputies arrived. Deputies said they found the golf club broken in the hotel room, finding the putter in some clothes.
Deputies said Bishop and Ham are wanted on charges of first-degree burglary and assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. Bishop is also wanted on a criminal domestic violence high and aggravated charge.
The Spartanburg County Sheriff's office confirmed Bishop was arrested in 2013 in connection with his father's death but the charge was dropped.
Anyone with information on Bishop and Ham's whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
