GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville County deputies said one person was shot Tuesday night at a home on McElhaney Road in Travelers Rest.

Deputies said they were called to a domestic disturbance report around 11:30 p.m. and found a man shot once in the shoulder. The victim was taken to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Deputies said there was four people in the house when an argument between a boyfriend and his girlfriend broke out. They said the boyfriend threatened the woman, and her son pulled out a single-barrel shotgun and fired at the boyfriend, hitting him.

According to deputies, the man who was shot will likely face charges once he is released from the hospital to include criminal domestic violence.

Deputies said they were still investigating the shooting to determine the son acted in self-defense, and no charges had been filed against him.

No names have been released in connection with the shooting.
