911 back in service for Barnardsville area of Buncombe Co.

ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

The 911 lines were out for the Barnardsville area of Buncombe County on Thursday, but the service has since been restored.

If residents had an emergency, they were asked to call administrative lines at (828) 250-6650, (828) 250-6660, or their local fire departments.

Officials said the lines went out at about 2:45 p.m. on Thursday and were back in operation Friday morning.

At 10 p.m. Thursday, officials said 911 had been restored to about 65 percent of residents and a dispatchers was brought to the Barnardsville Fire Department to handle calls.
