POMFRET,CT (WFSB) -

A medic from Pomfret said he wanted to show the other side of warfare.

Sgt. Christopher Sheldon, 22, said he's been overseas in Afghanistan finishing up a nine-month tour.

He said he's a troop senior medic with Ghost Troop, 4th Squadron, 2nd Calvary Regiment.

He wished to share a picture of him that was taken earlier this week. In it, he said he's giving some gummy bears to a few children during a dismounted patrol through a village in the Kandahar Province.

"I think the people of Connecticut would benefit seeing more of the other side of warfare versus all the bad things that have been seen floating through the news the last 10 years of war," Sheldon said.

Sheldon is a graduate of Woodstock Academy, according to his Facebook page.

He said this was his second tour in Afghanistan.
