EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -
SWAT was called to a home on Maycaw Drive in Anderson County on Thursday after a break-in was reported, according to deputies.
Lt. Sheila Cole of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said a female resident noticed a break-in at her home off Henderson Road about 3:30 p.m. and contacted a neighbor who called 911.
According to the deputy's report, the homeowner arrived to find her home broken into and a neighbor came over to help.
The neighbor told deputies he heard someone run up the stairs in the home and when he called out, no one answered.
The report said deputies were called and believed the potential suspect(s) were inside the home. SWAT was then called to the house.
Cole said K-9s were called in and cleared a few floors of the house. Deputies did not find anyone in the house but said the dressers were open with clothes scattered across the room and a jewelry box was missing.
The scene was cleared by 9 p.m.
Cole said so far, deputies have not identified any suspects. Anyone with information on the burglary is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
