LAS VEGAS (FOX5) -
Metro police on Thursday said they are looking for a man in connection with a road rage incident in early February that hospitalized an elderly man.
Police said that at 11:38 a.m. Feb. 6, the victim pulled into a gas station on Flamingo Road at Jones Boulevard. As the victim drove into the lot, a gray Honda Accord pulled in front him, causing him to drive around the Accord in order to avoid a crash.
Moments later, police said, the Accord sped toward the man as he was walking from a gas pump to the convenience store, stopping just short of hitting him. They said the driver accelerated again, hitting the man.
The man fell to the ground, and the driver ran him over, police said.
"The guy was on the floor for 10 minutes, screaming," said Sheyla Rodriguez, who works at the gas station. "We tried to help him the most we [could]."
The Accord, which was described as a 2010 or 2011 model with tint on the rear windows, was last seen driving out of the parking lot westbound on Flamingo, police said. They said it bore a California license plate that began with 6C.
The driver was described as a white man in his 30s with a medium build. He was wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt.
Police said the man who was hit suffered serious injuries as a result of the crash. He was taken to University Medical Center for treatment.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 702-385-5555.
