CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The city of Clemson issued a boil advisory due to low water pressure caused by a water main break on Old Stone Church Road.

According to a release, the advisory applies to residents in Pickens County, including Stone Circle, Ligon Street, Bentbrook Subdivision, New Hope Road, Helton Street, Clemson Heights Area, and Cherry Road to Cherry Crossing.

The release said residents in the affected area should vigorously boil their water for at least one full minute before drinking it or cooking with it.  Also, any ice made from water that has not been boiled shouldn't be used for drinking purposes.

These precautions should be followed until residents are otherwise notified by the City of Clemson.  The City of Clemson is currently working to correct the problem.
