ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The P.A.W.S. Animal Shelter in Anderson County is asking for donations to help care for the 119 dogs and cats that were brought in last Wednesday.

P.A.W.S. workers said all the animals are on a regulated feeding schedule now.  They are requesting donations in the form of Purina brand puppy and kitten food, as well as puppy pads.

The animals were taken from Golden S. Rescue in Easley after deputies got a search warrant to check the condition of the dogs.  According to deputies, 40 to 60 dogs were "extremely emaciated," and several dogs were kept in unsanitary kennels.

Deputies said Debra Sheridan was cited with three counts of ill treatment of animals.

Sheridan said she was taking care of the animals and plans to fight the charges.  Her court date is set for March 31.

PAWS will be closed through Saturday in order to process the large number of incoming animals. They posted on their Facebook page that people wishing to donate supplies can drop them off at their shelter and check their online wish list here.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office said the cast is still under investigation.
