LAURENS, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The heavyweights of emergency response in Laurens County met on the football field Saturday.

The matchup dubbed the Laurens County Super Bowl pitted EMS technicians against deputies from the sheriff's office in a flag football game aimed to give the winning organization some bragging rights and help raise money for the John Love Foundation, according to the sheriff's office.

The John Love Foundation supports family members who have lost someone to suicide, educates the community about the effects of suicide and assists those contemplating suicide.

Laurens County EMS took the honor this year, defeating Sheriff Ricky Chastain and his deputies 56-26.

The game was held in the Laurens Middle School football field on Main Street.
