GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

For the next two weeks, Greenville High School students hope they can raise thousands of pounds of food for an Upstate food bank.

Inside the school's lobby is a box ready to be filled then sent out to Harvest Hope Food Bank.

Harvest Hope needs the help, the organization distributes food to many Greenville County organizations including the Salvation Army and Meals on Wheels to the tune of 6 million pounds per year.

To donate, simply stop by the high school with non-perishable food items or any monetary donations.

Last year, the school raised nearly four thousand pounds of food and hopes to exceed a much bigger amount this year.
