GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The National Weather Service is warning of an increased fire danger going into Thursday for the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia.

The statement said a dry air mass combined with warming temperatures and high winds will enhance the risk of fires.

The NWS said the western Carolinas and northeast Georgia will see sustained winds of 10 to 15 mph, with gusts at 20 mph, which will contribute to the spread of fire in the area.

They suggested referring to local fire authorities to see if you can burn on Thusday.
