Two men have been charged in connection with a breaking and entering at a church where copper was stolen, according to Rutherford County deputies.

On Wednesday, police said the pastor of Foothills Harvest Transitional Service in Cliffside reported a breaking and entering in progress, according to deputies.

Two detectives were nearby and responded to the church where they saw the pastor in the parking lot with two men, deputies said.

The detective took the two men into custody and identified them as Authur Chad Lee and Ronnie Clayton Foster.

Deputies said the Lee and Foster entered the church through a broken window and were removing copper wiring from the building.

They said the wiring was found spooled and the walls and ceiling were damaged.

Deputies charged Lee and Foster with breaking and entering into a place of worship, larceny and injury to property to obtain nonferrous metals.

Both are being held on $75,000 bond.
