BAT CAVE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Several houses were threatened as a wildfire burned close to 12 acres of land near Bat Cave, NC on Thursday.

North Carolina forestry officials said four structures were threatened and the fire came so close to one house that it melted the siding.

Forestry officials said a bulldozer, scout plain, a helicopter, along with several fire crews helped battle the wildfire.

Fire officials said a person burning debris started the fire.

At 6:30 p.m. fire officials said the fire was completely contained.

A crew will be on the scene throughout the night to put out hotspots, officials said.
