PHOENIX (CBS5) -

Phoenix police are looking for the driver of a van that struck and killed a man and then drove away early Tuesday morning.

The 28-year-old man was crossing West Indian School Road midblock and east of North 38th Avenue about 2:30 a.m. when he was struck by the older model, white, full-size van, said Phoenix police Officer James Holmes.

The man died at the scene, Holmes said.

Indian School Road in the immediate area would be closed at least until 9 a.m. while police gathered evidence, Holmes said.

The victim's identity and other information wasn't immediately available.
