Coroner: Greenville cyclist dies 4 days after being struck by pickup

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenville man died four days after being struck by a pickup truck while riding his bike , the coroner announced on Wednesday.

Coroner B. Parks Evans said 50-year-old Ralph Lane was riding a bicycle across White Horse Road last Friday when he was struck by the truck.

Lane was transported to Greenville Memorial Trauma Center and died on Tuesday, Evans said.

Evans said the cause of death was traumatic brain injury secondary to blunt force trauma.
