SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Deputies said they discovered a Spartanburg man had escaped his home detention while doing a random check at his house.

Spartanburg County deputies said they had stopped by the Carson Avenue home of Marcel Foster on Wednesday for a random home visit.

When speaking to two other residents, they told deputies she had not seen Foster since Tuesday when he left for work. Deputies said they discovered Foster's monitoring receiver was damaged. They told deputies it had fallen off the table.

The last report for Foster was when he left his home at 4:05 p.m. on Tuesday, deputies said.

Deputies said they checked with the local hospitals and Foster's employer, who said he had left work about 6:30 p.m. Tuesday.

According to deputies, Foster had been placed on home detention when he failed to show up for a court appearance.

A judge signed an escape warrant for Foster's arrest. Anyone with information on his whereabouts is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
