More than 1K without power in Greenville Co.

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Upstate has seen heavy rain throughout the morning and utility crews said the weather caused a power outage for some in Greenville County.

Duke Energy is reporting more than 1,000 customers are without power along Wade Hampton.

According to a Duke Energy spokesperson, multiple lines are down. The spokesperson did not say the exact cause of the outage but did say it was weather-related.

According to their outage website, Duke Energy expects power to be restored to the effected customers by 1:30 p.m.

Rain is continuing to move through the area and is not forecast to dry up until later in the day. Read more about Friday's forecast here.
