A Greenville County judge gave a man the maximum sentence for a 2012 domestic violence incident where he beat the victim with a baseball bat on Wednesday.
The jury convicted 33-year-old Christopher Terrell Gamble of aggravated domestic violence and was given the maximum sentence of 10 years by Judge Victor Pyle Jr. in Greenville County.
During the trial it was established on May 26, 2012 Gamble punched the victim in the head and struck her several times with an aluminum bat. He also destroyed the victim's phone to prevent her from calling for help.
After the incident, the victim told police and medical personnel that she had fallen.
The woman said in court that she did that out of fear of Gamble.
The victim's mother discovered the woman bruised and beaten when she went to check on her.
