ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A naval recruiter is facing multiple charges of taking indecent liberties with a child on Friday, the Buncombe County Sheriff's Office announced.

Deputies charged Benjamin Johnson with three counts of indecent liberties with a child, two counts of felonious restraint and one count of first-degree sexual exploitation of a minor.

The sheriff's office said Johnson had been working as a naval recruiter in Buncombe, Mitchell, Yancey and Madison counties.

Deputies said he was able to have contact with children in a school setting in these areas.

The Buncombe County Sheriff's Office asked anyone with information related to Johnson having inappropriate contact with children to contact the sheriff's office major case unit at 828-250-4516.
