Police: Greenville parents arrested after baby bruised, suffers fractures

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Greenville couple is in jail after police said their 3-month-old child was found with several injuries after it was left alone while in their care.

Police arrested Cheney Burton, 26, and Lucius Lloyd II, 28, on charges of unlawful neglect of a child on Friday.

According to the arrest warrants, the parents' child was left alone on multiple occasions and suffered bruises on its arms, legs, chin and head in addition to two fractures on the top of the baby's tibia bones in both legs.

The injuries happened at the couple's Cleveland Street home, police said.

According to police, the baby was placed in temporary custody with a family member. Police said Burton was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia when she was arrested.

Burton and Lloyd are being held at the county jail on bond.
