Police: Witnesses record shooting, help cops chase down gunman

GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Greenville police said witnesses to a shooting Sunday helped them track down and identify the suspect.

Police said they were called to an address along Pendleton Street about 3:15 p.m. where it was reported someone was shot.

When officers arrived at the scene, they said they found the victim and witnesses told them suspect ran to a vacant home at 109 Queen St., a quarter mile away.

Police said they surrounded the home and ordered the gunman come out, but he took off running out the back door. Officers were able to stop him and take him into custody. Police spokesperson Johnathan Bragg said they also found the gun from the shooting with the suspect.

Braylin Black, 19, was arrested and charged with attempted murder and possession of a weapon during a violent crime.

Police said the victim was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. According to Black's arrest warrants, police spoke to the victim who said the suspect walked up to him at the First Wok Chinese Restaurant and started firing shots at him.

Bragg said witnesses recorded the shooting and there was other video available as well of the incident.
