PIEDMONT, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Troopers are investigating a two-car crash along West Georgia Road that killed one driver and sent another to the hospital Monday night.

The accident happened just after 11 p.m. along the 2800 block of West Georgia Road and involved a four-door Toyota and a Chevy pickup truck, according to the Highway Patrol.

Troopers said the pickup truck was headed eastbound when it crossed the center line, colliding head-on with the car headed west.

The driver of the pickup truck was not wearing a seatbelt and died at the scene, troopers said. The other driver was injured and taken to Greenville Memorial Hospital.

The coroner identified the truck's driver as Marcus Johnson, 29, of Simpsonville.
