GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville Humane Society is working to find a home for a 3-month-old puppy who is in need of a special home because she is blind.

The shelter posted on their Facebook page that Shazz is a beagle mix who loves people and other animals and they are working to find the right home for her.

They said Shazz becomes anxious when left alone, so they are trying to find a family that already has dogs or cats and preferably has people around all day.

As far as the Humane Society knows, they said the pup was born with her condition, though future medical care could arise. They said she is blind training, which means once a routine is set in place and furniture is not moved around much, she should be able to get around the home OK.

Anyone interested in adopting Shazz is asked to contact the GHS adoption manager and will be required to spend time bonding with her. The adoption fee is $110.

The shelter is located 305 Airport Rd. in Greenville and its adoption floor is open Monday-Friday noon to 6:30 p.m., Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sundays from noon to 4 p.m.

Those who can't take Shazz home but want to help the Humane Society out may also be interested in donating newspaper. They posted the urgent need on Facebook Monday and said people can drop off papers in the blue recycling container located on the front sidewalk of their building.
