ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A suspect was taken into custody shortly after deputies said he robbed the Walgreens Pharmacy in Anderson of drugs on Tuesday.

Lt. Sheila Cole said 31-year-old David Eric Cole Jones presented a note to the pharmacist at about 9 a.m. and demanded Oxycontin. Cole said he insinuated that he had a weapon.

The pharmacist gave the suspect a few bottles of the drug and the suspect fled on foot, Cole said.

The Anderson County Sheriff's Office helicopter and K-9 team responded to the area and began searching for the suspect, Cole said.

The K-9 team located Jones a short time later hiding in a wooded area near the location of the robbery, according to Cole.

Jones was taken into custody and brought to AnMed Hospital because deputies said he ingested an unknown amount of drugs.

Cole said he is still at the hospital and being kept under guard.
