MAULDIN, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Greenville County Coroner's office has released the identity of the Fountain Inn man killed in a fiery crash on Highway 276 West off of I-385 in Greenville County.

Firefighters responding from the Mauldin Fire Department said they were called to the scene after getting reports of a vehicle on fire, and arrived to find the vehicle fully engulfed in flames shortly after 11 a.m. Saturday.

Troopers said the a 2006 Toyota pick-up truck ran off the right side of Highway 276 and crashed into a concrete column supporting the I-185 overpass.

Deputy Coroner Jeff Fowler said Michael Spence, 43, of Daventon Road was killed in the crash from blunt force trauma to the head and body.

Spence was the only person in the truck, troopers said.

Highway 276 West was closed in that area while troopers investigated and traffic was diverted to the Standing Springs Road on ramp.
