CLEMSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

It may not be the big dance, but Clemson's winning basketball record sent them to the NIT Tournament.

Word just came down that the Tigers got a 3-seed for their first NIT appearance since 2007.

Clemson Basketball posted on Twitter that the team will play Georgia State at home on Tuesday. The game is set for 9 p.m.

This is Clemson's 15th appearance in the NIT Tournament. The last time the Tigers took on Georgia state was during the 2006-2007 season. Clemson has won the last four games against the Panthers.

The winner of the Clemson-Georgia State game will face the winner of the Illinois-Boston University game.
