SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Tuesday morning the Wofford men's basketball team left campus to head to Milwaukee, WI, as they prepare to take on the Michigan Wolverines in the second round of the NCAA Basketball Tournament.

The team is being joined by 28 members of the Wofford band and members of the cheerleading squad. They all boarded buses at 9 a.m. in front of the Ben Johnson arena on campus to head to Greenville-Spartanburg Regional Airport, where they were catching a 10:30 a.m. flight.

Tevin Johnson, who plays the saxophone in the band, said their main goal is to "be loud, be proud and make sure we hype them up, because as long as we can play familiar songs that they've heard I feel confident they're going to get that extra boost and we could take this game."

Wofford, which is a No. 15 seed in the Midwest region bracket will face off against No. 2 seed Michigan on Thursday at 7:10 p.m. The game will air nationally on CBS.

Michigan is currently favored by 16 points, but that isn't stopping Wofford for trying to upset the Wolverines.

"Being a liberal arts school with 1,500 students and were playing on CBS Thursday night primetime, not many students get this opportunity to play and we're just so blessed and thankful to play on this big stage and we'll be ready," said sophomore guard Spencer Collins.

Wofford is 20-12 overall on the season. The team won the Southern Conference championship game for the third time in five seasons.
