ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A Seattle man was found guilty and sentenced on Tuesday for stabbing his girlfriend while visiting his mother in Anderson in 2010.

Mauricio Weber was sentenced to life in prison for murder and five years for the possession of a weapon during a violent crime in the death of his 20-year-old girlfriend, Patrice Jones.

In August of 2010, Webber and Jones were visiting his mother's Anderson apartment and at some point Weber began arguing with Jones.

According to the 10th Circuit Solicitor's Office, Weber then began stabbing her.

Weber's mother went to a neighbor screaming for help. The neighbor ran over to the apartment, witnessed the stabbing and called 911.

Jones had been stabbed 14 times and was pronounced dead at the scene.

"Patrice Jones left behind a small child and a loving family," said Solicitor Chrissy Adams. "Mauricio Weber took her life because, as he said, ‘She disrespected him.' Thanks to the actions of a neighbor and the efforts of law enforcement in coordination with our office, this jury agreed that he is a cold-blooded killer who should spend the rest of his life in prison."
