Combine mud, fire hoses, obstacles and adventure and a cause for kids and you have the perfect recipe for pure fun. The "mud run" craze is the latest draw for 5k-10k races. Whether you're a fierce competitor or an off-the-couch thrill seeker these types of events are sweeping the nation with all types of runners.
Please join us for the 2nd Annual Collins Childrens Home Mud Run presented by Southern Fried Cotton.
The 5k course "Mud Splatter for Kids Who Matter" will take place Saturday, April 26, at the Shaver Rec Complex in Seneca, SC along pre-existing trails in cooperation with the City of Seneca. The Shaver Rec Complex is the base for outdoor recreation in Seneca, South Carolina. The City of Seneca built a little bit of everything, including a slide topping out at over 16 feet.
Racers will find more than 30 obstacles over a 3.2 mile course including a tire field, mud "swim" under wires, "skirmish" crawl, cargo net climbs, slippery slides and much more. The racers will be individually timed but are encouraged to register with friends and enter into the group costume contest. Race registration includes a complimentary registration packet full of goodies and an event t-shirt presented by Southern Fried Cotton . Registration fees start at $120 per team with students receiving $20 discounts off their team price. Official start times will be posted on the event website on Thursday, April 24. You are welcome to keep your own time during the event, but your official race time will be recorded by your chip.
