GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The South Carolina Law Enforcement Division is investigating after an inmate died at Greenville County Detention Center on March 20.

Deputy Coroner Kent Dill said Charles Wesle Johnson, 57, began to have seizure like symptoms Thursday. Dent said the medical team was activated, Johnson went into cardiac arrest and was transported to Greenville Memorial Hospital where he died.

An autopsy was performed, but the exact cause of death is still unknown.

Dill said nothing indicated anything other than a medical death, and he said the body had no trauma.
