ASHEVILLE, NC (FOX Carolina) -

Police said they arrested a man responsible for tagging multiple signs and properties in downtown Asheville after he was caught in the act.

On March 22, Travis Schuett, 25, was seen by an officer writing on a box on a utility pole at Clingman Ave. and Hilliard Ave., according to Sgt. Dave Romick.

Romick said the officer continued to watch Schuett as he tagged 19 signs and properties with the word "SUVI."

"The tag of 'SUVI' written in black, white and purple paint has been a major eyesore in the Central Business District, River Arts District, and Haywood Street Business District for months," Romick said.

Schuett has been charged with multiple counts of injury to public property, according to the arrest report.
