EASLEY, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The Pickens County coroner was called to a small mobile home park in the Dacusville area after a man was found dead on Tuesday.

Chief Deputy Creed Hashe said shortly after 7 p.m. they responded to a call about gunshots and found a man dead from apparent gunshot wounds at a mobile home on Franklin Finley Road.

He said the case stemmed from a domestic fight between family members and they do not believe there is any threat to the community.

Hashe said two adults were in the home when the incident occurred and they were being questioned to determine the circumstances, but nobody has been arrested or charged at this time.

Coroner Kandy Kelley identified the man as 47-year-old Travis Whitman, who lived at the home where he was shot in the chest. The sheriff's office and coroner are investigating the death as a homicide.

Deputies said they are testing two firearms found inside the home to confirm if one of them was the weapon used to kill Whitman.

Hashe said there were no children at the home and there were no other injuries.
