Deputies: NC man fired at niece's car during drive-by shooting

MARION, NC (FOX Carolina) -

A western North Carolina man is accused of firing shots into a passing car that his niece and her boyfriend were in and the incident was caught on camera, according to deputies.

McDowell County deputies said the shooting happened March 6 about 8 p.m. along Old Highway 10 East.

A resident said she was outside when two cars passed and saw one man shoot into the passenger side of the other car, according to deputies. One of the home's surveillance camera caught the shooting on camera, leading deputies to the accused gunman.

Deputies said they arrested Tommy "T.J." Bowman Jr., 36, on two counts of attempted first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied car.

Deputies said they were also able to tie Bowman and Heaven Langdon, 20, to a case where a reported credit card theft. The pair was also charged with two counts of felony obtaining property by false pretense and one count of misdemeanor larceny.

Deputies said the credit card was used to buy $24 of gas and withdraw $200 from an ATM. They said the victim was Langdon's ex-husband.
