GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

After nearly five years of planning and creation, the Miniature World of Trains opened to the public this weekend in Greenville.

The mini museum officially opened Saturday.

Creators said the Miniature World of Trains is actually a miniature itself.

Creators said the store front location on West Camperdown Way only gives visitors a glimpse at what they can expect on the 65,000 square-foot world they plan to open by early 2016.

The smaller version shows some of the features of the future display the will have to teach visitors how transportation systems and infrastructure work together, according to creators.

The display includes forty computerized model trains which travel through the fictional city of Greenburg.

The Miniature World of Trains will be open Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $5 per person.
