Posted: Updated:
GREENVILLE, SC (FOX Carolina) -

Spring is in the air! High pressure will grab the Carolinas and put us in a warming trend before the arrival of rain on Friday.

Monday will kick off our work week with mostly sunny skies and temperatures climbing into the lower to mid-70s across the area. Winds will be relatively light between 5 and 10 miles per hour.

Tuesday will get even warmer as the sunny skies continues. In the upstate temperatures will peak in the upper 70s. The mountains will see highs reach the mid-70s by mid-afternoon.

Overnight lows will remain mild into Wednesday with skies remaining almost cloud free. Wednesday afternoon will flirt with the 80 degree mark in the upstate while the mountains stay in the mid-70s.

Clouds are expected to build throughout the day Thursday with a slight chance of rain for parts of the mountains late in the day. Temperatures will still be on the warm side.

Friday will be mostly cloudy and see the return of wet weather in the form of rain showers and a few possible thunderstorms.

As this event approaches, we'll be sure to get all the details of timing, location and amount. But until then, enjoy the beautiful streak!
