PENDLETON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

According to the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, the Bojangles' in Pendleton was robbed at knife point Sunday night, and 20 minutes later, a Plez-U gas station in Pendleton was robbed.

Lt. Sheila Cole of the Anderson County Sheriff's Office said a man walked into the Bojangles' restaurant, pulled a large butcher knife and demanded money from employees about 8 p.m.

Cole said the suspect fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. She said no patrons were inside at the time, and no one was injured.

The second robbery happened about 11:40 p.m. at the Plez-U. Cole said three men entered the store and demanded money. She said at least two of them were armed and they fled on foot with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Deputies spent the next hour searching for the men but did not locate them. Cole said the clerk was alone in the store at the time of the robbery. Deputies said the men's faces were covered with bandanas.

The sheriff's office does not believe there's a threat to public safety. Deputies do not know if the two robberies were related.

The robberies are under investigation and anyone with information should call the Anderson County Sheriff's Office or Crime Stoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
