Deputies: New resident's car found egged, welcome message carved in hood

SPARTANBURG, SC (FOX Carolina) -

A new resident at a Spartanburg apartment complex reported discovering his car vandalized, which included a welcome message from the unknown vandal.

The victims reported that their Chevy Camaro was found covered in broken eggs, smeared with an unknown yellow substance and then bread on top, according to Spartanburg County deputies.

Deputies said the vandals also scratched the paint in several areas and carved the message "Welcome to tha pines" on the hood. Deputies said the vandalism happed at the Whispering Pines Apartments.

The victims reported moving to the complex two weeks ago and did not know who was behind the damage, deputies said.

The vandalism happened between 11 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday, according to deputies.
