ANDERSON, SC (FOX Carolina) -

The second of three puppies taken from Anderson County PAWS on March 12 has been located after deputies said it was sold to a Navy sailor.

A spokesperson for the Anderson County Sheriff's Office, Lt. Sheila Cole, said they located the puppy after serving a search warrant on one of the four siblings accused of taking the dogs.

Cole said the dogs were sold to a Navy technician located in Beaufort, SC.

The sailor was found and told deputies he paid $45 to two of the suspects for the border collie/retriever mix, according to Cole.

Cole said the sailor has been in contact with Anderson County PAWs and has met the requirements to keep the puppy.

The third puppy, an American bluetick/heeler mix, has not been located at this time.

According to Cole, the third puppy was given to a young female driver in a Mitsubishi Eclipse at the Pilot Travel Center in Piedmont.

The sheriff's office asks anyone with information on the person to call Investigator Gene Culbertson at 864-231-2807.
